Engineering Manager/Integration Architect
19 Years 3 Months- As full time employee of Yahoo, I have worked across various products and technologies stack at Yahoo.
- I architect, design, develop and manage the overall E2E delivery of Yahoo CRM Ad Systems integration platform including Dev, QE and Ops. CRM is used for Yahoo display and search advertising business and interacts with a variety of both Yahoo internal and external advertising systems (Microsoft, Google etc.) and has complex 20+ different integrations. APIs (Web & REST services) are commonly used for integrations in addition to JMS, DB & File based mechanisms.
- The internal Yahoo systems includes several JEE, Hadoop based systems and many third party systems like OFA (Oracle Financial Application), MDM (Master Data Management, Informatica) and UAD (MicroStrategy)
- Some of the major integrations I worked on are as follows:
- 1. Ad Systems CRM Cloud Integration (year 2011-present)
- Yahoo decided to move from Siebel to Salesforce.com (SFDC) as CRM platform in 2012. As part of this initiative all the existing functionality in Siebel needed to be moved to SFDC. Since SFDC is a Cloud platform, it posed lot of challenges in terms of security and integration as most of the systems it needed to be integrated were within Yahoo firewall. Further, as result of Yahoo acquisition of Interclick (Genome) we had to integrate Interclick SFDC instance with Yahoo SFDC instance.
- Role: Engineering Manager/Integration Architect
- Responsibilities:
- Came up with the overall integration architecture for all SFDC cloud integrations
- Hired and managed a team of 10+ employees and contractors
- Provided guidance to new Scrum team members for working in Agile/Scrum projects

- EIO is a JEE based web application that is used for electronic signing of all Yahoo and display and search advertising orders. The application supports 30 different markets and 50 different languages.

- Responsibilities:
- Developed the front end UI using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, YUI(Yahoo UI) & JQuery
- Developed the web pages using “Responsive Web Design” so the page can be viewed in mobile devices

- As part of Yahoo Microsoft search alliance, there was need to integrate Yahoo YCRM system with various Microsoft systems like Microsoft AdCenter (for Company, Account & Orders), AIMS (for Support tickets), and PubCenter (for Publishers).
- Role: Lead Engineer/Architect
- Responsibilities:
- Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to Microsoft for AdCenter integration which was one of crucial projects having direct revenue impacts. Created a strong working relationship with Microsoft management in this role.
- Managed integration team for successful delivery
- Came up with overall integration architecture for Microsoft integration based on SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) and design patterns.
- Exposed Web Service APIs to Microsoft which has volumes of up to a million per month

- 4. YCRM Media Visor (Google) Integration (year 2009-2010)
- This project involves real-time integration of YCRM with Google’s Advertising management system, Double click/MediaVisor. MediaVisor contains the list of advertisers or agencies looking for sites for advertising. The integration of RFP and Quotes helped in quicker turnaround time for the advertisers and in automating the agency committal process.

- Responsibilities:
- Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to MediaVisor (Google) for this integration.
- Worked with MediaVisor team to come up with integration design and WSDL specifications for RFP and Placements
- Developed and consumed Web Services which used WS Security authentication and over SSL
- Worked with business team to understand FRD and translate it into technical design
- Lead the development team to design and develop the integration using Java EE, TIBCO Business Works, Adapters(Siebel, ADB) and JMS

- 5. YCRM Display Integration (June 2007-June 2008)
- The display systems used in Yahoo are Ruby, APT & RMX. YCRM/Siebel sends data to downstream systems for Order provisioning. The entities exchanged were Company, Contacts, Opportunities, Quotes and Orders.

- Responsibilities:
- Designed and configured Java EE, TIBCO Business work process , TIBCO adapters(Siebel, ADB) to talk to different legacy applications, web services, JMS based applications
- Coded a custom TIBCO adapter using TIBCO C++ SDK to talk to a legacy order fulfillment application called Ruby
- Coded Siebel workflows and business processes to consume web service
